About the Role – Mō te Tūranga

We are seeking an experienced and motivated HR Manager to join our Christchurch Head Office. This newly created role reflects our company’s growth as we prepare to open our fifth village in January.

As a key position within the organisation, the HR Manager will lead and support all HR functions, with a particular focus on managing and improving processes related to disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and other critical HR procedures. The role also emphasizes fostering a proactive approach to people management and collaborating with the senior management team to promote wellbeing and a positive workplace culture.

The ideal candidate will excel at maintaining effective HR practices that support a high-performing workplace while contributing to our mission of delivering exceptional lifestyle experiences for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and implement HR strategies that support Qestral’s rapid growth while aligning with our mission to deliver exceptional lifestyle experiences.

· Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and staff retention programs to build teams that embody our commitment to excellence.

· Lead performance management and employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive and high-performing workplace culture.

· Provide expert guidance on employment law compliance and HR best practices, ensuring a culture of respect, fairness, and equity.

· Manage payroll, employee benefits, and HR systems with efficiency to maintain operational excellence.

· Support managers and employees in resolving workplace matters, promoting a collaborative and supportive environment.

· Monitor HR metrics and provide actionable insights to enhance organisational performance and achieve strategic objectives.

· Mentor and train managers to proactively address issues and minimise escalations to Head Office.

What We’re Looking For:

· Tertiary qualification in HR or related field (preferred).

· Proven HR management experience in a dynamic, growing environment.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office

· Previous work in the Aged Care industry is advantageous but not essential
